Unless you have been living under a rock you are already aware that adidas has resurrected the iconic Predator. To kick off the launch in LA, the three stripes hosted a Predator take over at the Base Los Angeles.
The building was transformed into a scene straight out of a thriller. The walls were lit up with red and smoke crept up anf filled the space. This was not the normal Tango event at all. The moment you walked into the space it felt like a live party. One side was active as the Tango teams battled it out to take home the crown of Los Angeles. People were pressed up against the fence to see top level players go at each other while the host gave it a street style vibe as he hyped up moves and failures. Directly in the middle of the gallery was a display of the newest series of Predator footwear. To the left, the Secret Walls crew hosted an art battle featuring artists Geoff Gouveia, Joseph Lee, Nina Palomba, and more. Adidas also added a nice touch, literally and figuratively, with the TOCA machine area–where attendees could work on first touch skills in a street style setting. The back of the event housed a FIFA game area and a Nikys Sports pop up shot selling exclusive Predator merch and new footwear line.
Adidas always puts on good events but the Predator event really was special. The vibe of the space really had an extra lifestyle feeling and that is what we are always looking for when we attend events. The music was on point and the aesthetic fit the bill perfectly. The space was dark and eerie in keeping with the Predator ethos. Adidas continues to impress me with the way they are going about injecting the street style into the football space. Taking a full-blown football space and turning into a massive party with people who looked as though they knew nothing about the Predator line is impressive. Kudos to the adidas North America team as they continue to set the standard of Stadium to Street.
