We teamed up with the Houston Dynamo as they celebrated 10 years of Dynamo soccer. The club has achieved a lot in 10 years including two MLS cups and fielding some of the best players to kick the ball in MLS. On Friday night leading up to the game, we connected with local boutique, The Classroom, to host “Decade” a event that celebrated the 10 year anniversary by connected the worlds of art, music, and sneakers with soccer. The event featured custom painted jerseys by Ike Rodriguez, live DJ spinning the tunes, a limited t-shirt collaboration with Premium Goods, food catered by Chic-Fil-A and drinks by Snapple and Heineken. We also had Houston’s own Sneaker Summit treat us to a rare display of their top 22 adidas kicks. If that wasn’t enough, Houston Dynamo stars DaMarcus Beasley and Giles Barnes as well as future MLS hall of famer and Houston legend Dwayne D’Rosario came through to kick it with everyone.
On game day we moved the top 22 kicks to the stadium, where we set up a Kicks to the Pitch field, putting the top 22 kicks on display along with the jerseys while exclusive interviews with the Houston Dynamo players played on monitors in the background. All in all it was a great weekend, again merging the two worlds … connecting sneakers, streetwear, art and music with the beautiful game.
